1. Volunteer for something which really impacts the school on a daily basis.
2. See firsthand the dynamics of each grade from first through fifth.
3. Be part of a team whose sole purpose is to ensure the safety of every child on the playground and in the lunchroom.
4. Meet other parents, make friends and get to know the school staff.
5. See how the school operates on a daily basis.
6. Get exercise and fresh air. Did you know that you can burn up to 200 calories in two hours on the yard especially if you're walking back and forth to the lunchroom?
7. Reap the benefits of having Marsha out there everyday. Get to know her as our kids do and you'll know why our school is awesome.
8. Know that you're really making a difference.
9. Siblings are welcome!! They get to hang out at the "big" school which will help them when they start kindergarten.
10. And last, your child(ren) will love seeing you there.

At Coyote Creek School the PTA plays a critical role in enhancing our children's educational experience. We have almost 900 members and over 60 parents holding board and committee chair positions and hundreds of other parents volunteering throughout the year, the PTA is able to make a significant difference in the lives of our children. For example, the Coyote Creek PTA provides:

• PTA sponsors ice cream social for the Book Fair, Welcome Back Howling Social, New Families Orientation and Welcome Kinder Tea
• Welcome Teacher Luncheon
• Community Service projects involving the entire school
• Fun family events like the Math Festival, Bingo Night, Talent Show, International Potluck, Movie Night, and Spring Fling Dance and International Dance & Reading
• Supports the following programs: Reflections, Red Ribbon, Primo's Run and Art Masterpiece
• Character building and educational assemblies
• Parent Education programs
• Legislative advocacy on behalf of children and teachers

In order to make this happen, we rely on parents and teachers to become members and, more importantly, to participate in the PTA.

The PTA holds monthly general membership meetings, usually the 3rd Monday of each month. The meetings are casual. We are a community of parents coming together and we understand busy schedules. We try to make it fun and informative, especially with the Principal's report.

The Golden Skate and the City of San Ramon are proud to present Street Smart & Character Counts Skate Night $9 per person: includes admission and quad skates for students only! Parents admitted free but must pay for skate rental.

Mark your calendar for Sept. 17, Oct. 15 (come dressed in costumes), Dec. 17, Jan. 14, March 18, April 15 and May 20. Character Counts is a community based program that involves 6 characteristics that help promote an individual to be better from the inside out; Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.
