The following safety issues have been reported by parents:

• Drivers in the pick-up lines are blocking the pedestrian crosswalks. Please keep the crosswalks clear for pedestrians!
• Parents and/or kids often fail to use the crosswalks, and instead cross wherever they want to on North Gale Ridge Road . Please use the crosswalks, even if you have to walk a little farther-it is much safer than crossing through the line of traffic in the middle of the street!
• It was reported that there are a number of drivers (some may be parents) who are driving through the crosswalk inside the school driveway when the crossing guard, and sometimes the crossing guard and students, parents and other pedestrians, are in the crosswalk. This has been noted in both the main driveway, and in the Kindergarten area. Please use the utmost caution when approaching the crosswalks in the school driveway, and follow the directions of the crossing guard, staff or safety patrol.

• Pedestrians, when using the crosswalks, please stay on the curb to wait for the crossing guard to cross you. Sometimes large construction trucks turn up Lilac Ridge Road , and their wheels go over the curbs.
• Drivers, please use your turn signals in the intersection in front of the school driveway entrance (unless you are proceeding straight through the intersection), so that our crossing guard knows which way you will be proceeding.
• Drivers, please do not let kids get out of vehicles in the middle of the street! Please pull into the school driveway and drop off children in the designated drop-off zone.
• At pick-up time, please do not wave children across the street. If you are parked, and your children are walking to your car, they need to use the crosswalks!
• Please, no quick maneuvers by drivers, such as pulling out of your lane around the traffic line, or suddenly changing the direction you are turning.
• Drivers, please slow down when entering the school driveway, and follow the instructions of our School Staff and Student Safety Patrol! (Anyone in a bright green-yellow vest!)
