Q. Can a child walk or do they have to run?
A. The children do not have to run they can walk.

A. The lap is about 1/8 of a mile. Each grade will be allotted approximately 20 – 25 minutes to run the laps.

A. Kindergarten 1st Grade 8:40 – 9:30

Q. Do the Kindergartners and the 1st graders run together?
A. There is two separate courses, so they will run at the same time but on separate courses.
Q. If a child does not get any pledges can he/she still participate?
A. Yes, everyone is encouraged to participate regardless if they get any pledges or not, however, the pledge form is also a permission form and must be signed and returned in order for the child to participate.

Q. When are the pledge forms due and where do I turn them in?
A. Pledge forms must be returned by November 12, to your classroom teacher.

Q: Why do I need to turn in the pledge form if my child does not get any pledges?
A: The pledge form needs to be signed showing that you give your permission for your child to participate.
Q. What if my child does not want to participate?
A. This is a fun and exciting event that your child will definitely want to be a part of; however, if your child is sick, unable to participate or does not want to participate, they may sit along the side and watch or read a book in the office.

Q. Do I get anything for pledging?
A. Donations are tax deductible. Children who earn $100 or more are entered into a drawing for raffle prizes such as an I-pod, razor scooter, etc.

Q. What should my child wear for the fun run?
A. Participants are encouraged to wear hats and sunscreen if it’s sunny and good walking/running shoes. To show their school spirit children may want to wear Coyote Creek clothing.
Q. Will the kids get Fun Run t-shirts?
A. No. All the proceeds will go back to school programs.
Q. Do I need to think of a theme for my child’s class?
A. No. We want to simplify room parent requests, but kids are encouraged to show their school spirit by wearing Coyote Creek attire.
Q. If a parent is volunteering can he/she bring siblings?
A. This is a community event and siblings are welcome. If you are volunteering please let the room parent know so an appropriate position can be assigned.

Q. Can parents run with their kids?
A. Yes, the kids love it!
Q. Can grandparents help?
A. Yes. This is a great event for grandparents to help!!! The kids would love to see grandparents helping at school.
Q. What are the volunteer duties?
A. The day of the event volunteers are needed to: pin race bibs on the kids, pass out water at water stations, put tally marks on the runners’ number tags each time they complete a lap, collect race bibs when the runners have finished, set up the field in the morning and take down the field after the event, total tally marks and pledge amounts.
Q. Will there be any rest areas or water stations at the site?
A. Yes. There will be 2 water stations and should any child need to stop or rest we will have an area for that too.

Q. Is this a PTA or CCLF event and what does the money go for?
A. This is a CCLF sponsored event. All the money raised will go directly back to the school for the benefit of the children. Targeted programs include music appreciation for kindergarten, library and computer instruction for grades K-5 and para-educators in the classroom.

Q. We gave at registration. Why are we doing another fundraiser?
A. Fall Registration donations raised about 35% of the money committed to pay for educational enhancements deemed necessary for the 2009 – 2010 school year. We need to raise approximately $190,000 more to meet our funding commitments.

A. There are two ways to pledge -- you can pledge a certain dollar amount per lap (i.e. $1 per lap x 10 laps = $10) or if you wish you may just pledge a Flat Donation which is a set amount no matter how many laps your child runs (i.e. $10.00 total. Whether your child runs 1 lap or 20 laps you still pledge $10). We ask that your minimum flat donation is $2.00.
